Roadworks under way in Uitzicht, Durbanville, Eversdal Heights, Scottsville, Kenridge, Door de Kraal and Contermanskloof

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate hereby advises residents, road users and businesses in the Uitzicht, Durbanville, Eversdal Heights, Scottsville, Kenridge, Door de Kraal, Brackenfell and Contermanskloof areas of roadworks that will commence this week and will be under way until 30 June 2026, if all goes according to plan.
The work is planned to take place from Monday, 13 April 2026 until 30 June 2026 between 09:00 and 15:30 from Monday to Friday, weather permitting.
In Contermanskloof, however, the work will be done at night between 19:00 and 05:00. Residents and business owners can expect some noise during this time.
Work will take place along segments of the following roads:
Uitzicht
Geneva Crescent
Marco Close
Valencia Street
Durbanville
Durbell Road
Francis Albert Road
Eversdal Heights
Taaibos Street
Wonderboom Street
Scottsville
Orchid Street
Cosmos Street
Petunia Street
Malva Street
Carnation Street
Verbena Street
Kenridge
Door de Kraal
Contermanskloof
Brackenfell
‘Residents, businesses and road users in the Uitzicht; Durbanville and surrounding areas can look forward to smoother road surfaces and improved safety once these roadworks are complete. While some temporary disruptions are inevitable during construction, every effort will be made to limit inconvenience as we work to keep Cape Town moving,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
The road works will include the following:
rehabilitation, resurfacing and resealing of existing roads
removal of damaged kerbs and installation of new kerbs
replacement of selected and damaged channels and realignment where needed.
upgrading of gravel roads to asphalt roads
reinstatement of all road markings removed during the process.
These upgrades form part of the City’s regular maintenance programme to keep roads safe and in good condition for all users.
